Among these substance use is quite common to feel better at HA (Biondich and Joslin, 2015; Chaturvedi and Mahanta, 2004; Donegani et al., 2016; Evans and Witt, 1966; Kerry et al., 2016; Kim et al., 2014; Pavlovic et al., 2019; Pitman and Harris, 2012; Quiñones-Laveriano et al., 2016; Schinder and Ruder, 1989). Several lines of evidences suggests that use of recreational drugs such as methamphetamine (METH), amphetamine, cocaine, ecstasy (3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, MDMA), cannabis, opioids, alcohol, and other psychoactive drugs are affecting central nervous system (CNS) abnormalities and induce brain dysfunction after their chronic use (Le Berre et al., 2017; Loftis et al., 2019; Mizoguchi and Yamada, 2019; Oña and Bouso, 2021; Palmer, 1983; Razavi et al., 2020; Schrot and Hubbard, 2016). Out of these drugs of abuse, METH is the most widely used in people at HA (see Kim et al., 2014; Klette et al., 2006).
