Abstract

The properties of the site labelled by [3H]fluphenazine in membranes prepared from the rat neostriatum were examined using radioligand binding methodology. Binding of [3H]fluphenazine was rapid, saturable and of high affinity (Kd = 0.4 nM). Drug displacement experiments demonstrated that the site labelled by [3H]fluphenazine possessed pharmacological characteristics consistent with those of a D-1 dopamine receptor.
