Abstract

The infra-red spectra of meso and dl-2:4-dichloropentanes, model compounds of polyvinyl chloride, have been measured and the rotational isomerism in these molecules is discussed in relation to the assignments of C-Cl stretching frequencies. A discussion on the configuration of polyvinyl chloride chain is also presented.
