Two molecular wheels 12-MC-6 complexes: Synthesis, structure and magnetic property of [Co(μ<inf>2</inf>-SEt)<inf>2</inf>]<inf>6</inf> and [Fe(μ<inf>2</inf>-SEt)<inf>2</inf>]<inf>6</inf>
2013, Journal of Solid State ChemistryCitation Excerpt :Nickel(II) thiolates [Ni(μ2-SR)2]n occasionally construct cyclic structures by forming shared edges of the square NiS4 coordination planes, and several hexanuclear ring clusters [Ni(μ2-SR)2]6 have been reported [2]. So far, several tiara-nickel thiolates have been synthesized and characterized, including cyclic tetranuclear, [3] pentanuclear, [4,5] octanuclear, [6] nona- and undenuclear complexes [7]. Zhang et al. reported a new synthetic route to cyclic nickel thiolate complexes with two different thiolate bridges, which resulted in the selective formation of [{Ni(μ2-SiPr)(μ2-mtet)}6] and [{Ni(μ2-StBu)(μ2-mtet)}10] (mtet=2-methylthioethanethiolate) [8].
