Investigation on wire electrical discharge machining of AISI 304 stainless steel
2022, Materials Today: ProceedingsCitation Excerpt :The survey revealed that different mathematical models are used to analyze and forecast responses like MRR and SR duration variation of process parameters. Spedding et al. [7] have developed a model for the WEDM process to predict surface roughness and surface waviness by using RSM and ANN models. Adeel Ikram et al. designed the experiment using Taguchi’s L18 orthogonal array and statistically analyzed the result by analyzing variance (ANOVA) and signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio.

2020, Materials Today: ProceedingsCitation Excerpt :In this work, experiments were designed considering electrical parameters, tool wire parameters and type of wire. A L18(21,37) multi-level orthogonal design was adopted for formulating the experimental plan and multiple linear regression models were developed [16,17] for the measured outputs viz., MRR and surface roughness. The developed regression equations were then fed in to the Cuckoo Search optimization algorithm source code written in MATLAB and optimization was exercised with the objective of maximizing MRR and considering surface roughness as constraint.
