    However, when considering smoking status reported by the patients, it should be remembered that this information was collected prior to the treatment start and some patients might have stopped or resumed smoking during treatment. This potential bias in smoking status should speak in favor of the negative impact of smoking since it is unlikely that a non-smoker would report to smoke during treatment and be included in the smoking group [29,35]. Also it cannot be excluded that smoking may relate to other negative risk factors [36].
