Abstract

The effects of both varying the alignment films and the operating conditions on the dynamic characteristics of liquid-crystal spatial light modulators (LC-SLMs) have been investigated. The optimum operating conditions of LC-SLMs have been determined, and a proper choice of alignment films has been made. To interpret the high speed obtained for polyimide systems retaining their high resolution, a simulation of speed enhancement has been proposed.
