Performance Testing — A Case Study of a Combined Web/Telephony System

Abstract

This paper describes performance testing and how it interfaces with other disciplines within performance engineering. It describes choice of tools and some common pitfalls in setting up a valid performance test. Turning from the general to a case study, a description of performance testing on one product is given, covering both voice and Web application performance testing. Conclusions summarising what makes a successful performance test and its value are drawn.
