Catalytic dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene and tetrahydrofuran by a dihydrido iridium P–C–P pincer complex

Abstract

The P–C–P pincer complex, [IrH 2 {C 6 H 3 (CH 2 PBu t 2 )-2,6}] catalyses the transfer dehydrogenation of the donor-bearing substrates, ethylbenzene and tetrahydrofuran at temperatures as low as 150 °C.
