The first difluoro-bridged copper chain, and alternating zig-zag, stabilized by a unique intrachain hydrogen bond system. Crystal and molecular structure of Catena-poly[di-µ-fluoro-bis(3-methyl-4-ethyl-5-phenylpyrazole)copper(II)]

Abstract

The synthesis, structure and magnetism of catena-poly[di-µ-fluoro-bis(3-methyl-4-ethyl-5-phenylpyrazole)copper(II)], [CuF2(C12H14N2)2] is described; a unique next-nearest neighbour hydrogen-bonding stabilization between N–H and the bridging fluoride ions is observed.
