Elimination stabilized alkyls. Part III. Trimethylsilylmethyl and neopentyl alkyls of transition metals

Abstract

Trimethylsilylmethyl (R) complexes R2[graphic omitted]SiMe3(M = Nb and Ta) and neopentyl (R′) complexes, MR′4(M = Ti andZr), R′3TaCl2 and Mo2R′6 are obtained by the interaction of Grignard or lithium reagents derived from chloromethyltrimethylsilane and neopentyl chloride with the appropriate metal halide 1H N.m.r. and i.r. spectra are reported.
