Silver(i)-catalyzed oxidative coupling of hydrosilanes with DMF to symmetrical and unsymmetrical disiloxanes

Abstract

A range of unsymmetrical and symmetrical disiloxanes have been effectively synthesized through oxidative coupling of hydrosilanes with DMF as a source of oxygen catalyzed by 0.5% AgNTf2 at 60 °C. This protocol features good functional group compatibility, high efficiency and mild reaction conditions. Notably, the reaction could proceed at gram scales with slightly longer reaction times with no decrease in yield.
