Mit Pflanzenstoffen gegen erhöhtes Cholesterin

Summary

Pflanzliche Nahrungs- oder Heilmittel können auf 3 unterschiedliche Arten cholesterinsenkend wirken. Ballaststoffe in Pflanzen, wie zum Beispiel Apfelpektin oder Ballaststoffe in Flohsamen, sind in der Lage, Cholesterin oder dessen Derivate zu binden und damit die Resorption bzw. die Rückresorption zu behindern. Choleretisch wirkende Pflanzeninhaltsstoffe, zum Beispiel aus der Artischocke, verstärken die Ausscheidung von Cholesterin und Gallensäuren über die Galle. Bestimmte Pflanzeninhaltsstoffe wie Monacolin K aus dem Roten Reis behindern die körpereigene Cholesterinsynthese. Dieser Beitrag stellt die wichtigsten cholesterinsenkenden Heilpflanzen, deren Wirkprinzipien und die entsprechende Studienlage vor.
