Abstract
A nonlinear interaction between acoustic-and internal gravity waves in an inhomogeneous atmosphere is considered. Due to wave motion from a dense to a less dense medium, we conclude that the importance of the non-linear effect is increasing with height. The coupling coefficients are calculated, and the problem concerning resonance conditions is considered. It is shown that a transfer of energy between the waves can take place more rapidly than in the case of a wave interaction in a homogeneous medium.
