Abstract

Non-linear mixing of waves in dispersive media (including also non-dispersive media) is treated by using a simple model. The theory predicts some interesting features of harmonic wave propagation. The result can be applied to any dispersive waves with damping. The observed harmonic wave propagation of electron plasma waves is discussed on the basis of the non-linear mixing.
