Abstract
The authors present a detailed analysis of the implicit assumptions that lie at the basis of the proposed scaling relations for multifractal correlations. Their results show the validity of this scaling relation but also the presence of non-trivial amplitude properties. The conclusions of the present work are valid for general multifractal systems and may have particular relevance for the field of turbulence where these correlations are experimentally available.
