Abstract

Low-energy neutron elastic scattering from 12C below the first inelastic threshold is analysed using a single-channel R-matrix theory to test low-excitation, p-s-d shell-model spectroscopy of 12,13C. Including background potential scattering, a good fit to the total elastic cross section below the first threshold is obtained.
