Abstract

A study of the specific heat of high-purity single-phase dhcp La shows that this material is an intrinsic type-II superconductor with a κ of about 2.4. The temperature dependence of the free energy is characteristic of an intermediate coupling superconductor with 2ΔkBTc3.7.
