Effects of the Bragg and deformation-potential forces on ultrasonic propagation in metals

Abstract

A study is given of the effect of the Bragg and deformation reaction forces on acoustic propagation in simple metals. We show that no significant alterations of the results obtained within the free-electron model are expected and that no change occurs in the position and strength of the helicon-phonon interaction.
