Abstract

In the exciton — neutral-donor complex, in the simple nondegenerate two-band semiconductor model, the electron-hole exchange interaction mixes the two sets of the doublet spin states, each corresponding to different symmetry with respect to interchange of two electrons. Therefore, the envelope of the complex is composed of spatial functions antisymmetric and symmetric with respect to electron interchange. We have estimated the corrections due to the antisymmetric component of the envelope which appear in the expectation value of the ground-state energy and in the expression for the oscillator strength of the radiative recombination of an exciton bound to a neutral donor.
