Abstract
The current-voltage characteristics of point contacts have been measured between 4 and 100 K. The voltage dependence of the contact resistance at low temperatures resembles the temperature dependence of the resistance at zero bias voltage. These point-contact data are explained in terms of local Joule heating in the contact area.
