Hidden local symmetry versus massive Yang-Mills theory in the nonlinear chiral Lagrangian

Abstract

Based on the generalized hidden local symmetry in the chiral nonlinear σ model, I present a unified description of the π, ρ, and A1 mesons coupled to the gauge bosons of the Glashow-Salam-Weinberg model, which relates various approaches including the old massive Yang-Mills Lagrangian.
