Abstract

We present an improved measurement of the standard model CP violation parameter sin2φ1 (also known as sin2β) based on a sample of 85×106 BB¯ pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e collider. One neutral B meson is reconstructed in a J/ψKS0, ψ(2S)KS0, χc1KS0, ηcKS0, J/ψK*0, or J/ψKL0 CP-eigenstate decay channel and the flavor of the accompanying B meson is identified from its decay products. From the asymmetry in the distribution of the time interval between the two B meson decay points, we obtain sin2φ1=0.719±0.074(stat)±0.035(syst).
