Abstract

The angular variations of the D(p,pn)p and D(p,pp)n quasielastic scattering processes at Einc=22.8 MeV are investigated. It is shown that the D(p,pn)p data are incompatible with the simple impulse approximation and with models which include final-state interaction corrections to the simple impulse approximation. The behavior of the ratio of the D(p,pn)p and D(p,pp)n cross sections as a function of angle cannot be explained in terms of any simple model.
