Experimental Determination of Exchange Constants by Spin-Polarized Photoemission

Abstract

In a spin-polarized photoemission experiment the escaping polarized electrons interact with a paramagnetic surface layer of variable thickness. From the depolarization of the photoelectrons the exchange constant acting between the photoelectrons and the paramagnetic moments is obtained.
