Abstract
We calculate the penetration depth for a model of the high- superconductors based upon proximity coupling between one superconducting and one normal layer per unit cell. The linear, low- region of the data of Bonn et al. on is fitted quantitatively for both -wave and order parameters. However, these fitted models give very different predictions for , which may serve as a new test for the order parameter, or at least for the role of layers.
