Abstract

We present the first evidence of the decay $B^{0} \to ρ^{0} π^{0}$ , using $140 {f b}^{- 1}$ of data collected at the $Υ (4 S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric $e^{+} e^{-}$ collider. We detect $15.1 \pm 4.8$ signal events with a significance of 3.5 standard deviations and measure the branching fraction to be $B (B^{0} \to ρ^{0} π^{0}) = (5.1 \pm 1.6 (s t a t) \pm 0.9 (s y s t)) \times 10^{- 6}$ .
