Abstract
This paper shows how fuzzy control techniques can be directly applied on adaptive weighted mean filters design. It is possible for proposed filters to adjust the weights to adapt to local data in image in order to achieve maximum noise reduction in uniform areas and preserve details of images as well. This work shows a new approaches for image processing based on fuzzy rules.
