Abstract
An AWG-based interrogator is tested for FBG microphone array. Element microphones composed of FBG bonded on membrane are connected in series in one fiber cable and illuminated by a wideband source. The reflected light is processed with the system consist of a 32-ch AWG, photo diodes and differential amplifiers. First, the sensitivity and the frequency responses of the FBG microphone unit are studied mainly through experiments. Then, the operation point is discussed for the interrogation using AWG. The demonstrations of two-element and four-element arrays are carried out for audible sound waves.
