Influence of disjoining pressure on the stability of a liquid layer on a hard spherical core with respect to the self-charge

Abstract

It is shown that the critical value of the Rayleigh parameter characterizing the stability of a thin charged layer of liquid on the surface of a hard spherical core increases rapidly as the thickness of the layer decreases.
