Abstract

The flow, turbulence, and noise parameters of cold and hot jets flowing out of nozzles of different types at subsonic and supersonic velocities are calculated using the high-resolution RANS/ILES method. The effect of the Mach number and the temperature at the nozzle exit on the flow features, the turbulent fluctuations of the velocity, the static pressure, and the temperature, together with the overall noise level is analyzed for all the jets considered. The accuracy of the calculations is confirmed by means of comparing with the available experimental data concerning certain parameters.
