Abstract
The design of thin-wall drift tubes filled with a gas at a high differential pressure (up to 4 bar) is described, and the results of studying them are presented. A method for strengthening the tube walls with carbon filaments for compensating for changes in their linear dimensions upon changes in the differential pressure is considered. It is shown that these tubes can be used for developing planar position detectors of charged particles and photons.
