Abstract
The electron exchange under grazing scattering of a negative hydrogen ion by a spherical cluster of aluminum atoms is investigated. To solve the problem, the wave packet’s propagation method, which doesn’t utilize the perturbation theory, has been used. The fraction of scattered negative ions has been calculated as a function of the ion’s velocity component parallel to the surface. It is shown that the yield of negative hydrogen ions under grazing scattering by a spherical cluster has a bell-shaped dependence on the value of the velocity component parallel to the surface.
