Preparation of vitamin K 3 by oxidation of the methylnaphthalene fraction

Abstract

The reaction conditions were optimized for 2-methylnaphthalene oxidation to 2-methyl-1,4-naphthoquinone (fat-soluble vitamin K 3) with sodium dichromate in aqueous sulfuric acid.
