Investigation of dehydration of B2O3 at high temperatures using electron spectroscopy technique

  • Published:
Glass Physics and Chemistry Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

Dehydration of molten B2O3 has been studied using electron reflection spectroscopy. Spectral regions of absorption and reflection for groups BO4, BO3OH, and B3O3O3/2OH have been established. It has been shown that dehydration of molten B2O3 leads to a decrease in the concentration of boron four-coordinated groups containing hydroxyl ions in their coordination sphere.
