Abstract

The field-induced phase transition between the rhombohedral and tetragonal phases was investigated in Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3–8%PbTiO3 by dielectric constant and electrostriction loop measurements. The temperature-electric-field phase diagram was clarified, and physical properties near the field-induced phase transition were discussed using the Landau-type free energy function.
