Abstract
A simple, versatile method for fabricating semiconductor layers for use as photoelectrodes in photoelectrochemical cells is described. This method, in which a slurry of the semiconductor is painted onto a substrate, is demonstrated particularly for Cd (and Zn) chalcogenides, but is shown to be applicable to other materials of photovoltaic interest, such as . Also, the method allows for simple fabrication of layers of solid solutions, such as cadmium mixed chalcogenides.
