ABSTRACT

In this chapter, a thorough discussion has been made about some multivariate process capability vectors (MPCVs) available in literature. Shahriari and Abdollahzadeh have proposed a modification to the above problem by proposing a new MPCV. Moreover, for unilateral tolerance region, if the distance between mean of the process region and the reference point is quite large, then needs some modification. For multivariate processes, being inherently more complicated than their univariate counter parts, a single-valued assessment of their capability may be easy to understand but may pose some problems when one needs to improve it. Although a few MPCVs have been defined so far in literature, statistical properties of their estimators are still not studied extensively. In such cases (which may not be very rare in practice), taking decisions based on vector valued MPCVs may pose a challenging problem.
