ABSTRACT

About half of all drugs are dependent on the support of natural products. In current years, a substantial number of structurally unique compounds with interesting therapeutic activities have been isolated from the marine-derived fungus (alkaloids, polyketides, peptides, terpenoids, lactones, and steroids) with pharmacological activities, such as antibacterial, antiviral, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, Immunosuppressive, cardiovascular, antioxidant, antidiabetic, and enzymatic. This review chapter focuses on therapeutically active biocompounds from marine-derived fungus with classification according to the sources of isolation of fungus and their pharmacological activities. Novel biocompounds without pharmacological activity have not been reported. The chapter includes 111 bioactive compounds isolated from marine fungi during 2016 to 2017.
