ABSTRACT

Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is one of the most widely used multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) methods and the recent developments in literature mainly focus on intuitionistic and hesitant fuzzy extensions of AHP method. In this chapter, the fundamental concepts of intuitionistic and hesitant fuzzy sets and proposed AHP approaches based on these extensions are presented. Two different approaches to AHP method based on interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IVIFS) and hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets (HFLTS) are given in detail. Numerical examples for each of these approaches are also given to display their applicability. We believe that these two AHP approaches are quite effective in dealing with the vagueness and ambiguity dimensions of uncertainty and can be successfully applied for the solution of a wide range of MCDM problems.
