Chlorination reactions of 1, 3, 4, 6-tetra-O-acetyl-N-acyl-β-D-glucosamines at C-1 position were studied and it was found that these reactions suffered remarkable electronic effect of N-acyl groups. The mechanism of these reactions is discussed.
