Abstract

We demonstrate a new-type of magnetically sensitive optical fibre fabricated by embedding diamond lead-silicate glass. Nitrogen-vacancy centres, within the diamond particles, exhibit excellent fluorescence intensities and local magnetic field response at room temperature. DC magnetic sensitivity of the hybrid diamond-optical fibre magnetometer achieves 350. nTHz
