The purpose of the study was to find reliable molecular markers of intraocular inflammation in endogenic uveitis. The incidence of identification for tumor necrosis factor (TNF), interleukin-1a (IL-1a) and neopterin and dynamic changes of their concentration in tear fluid have been studied in 107 patients with acute and chronic forms of endogenic uveitis. Neopterin was found to be the most reliable and informative marker of intraocular inflammation.
