Zusammenfassung:
Die Frage nach den exakten Bedeutungen der Begriffe החָפֶּ und אתָשָׁרְתִּ in Esra-Nehemia zog in der Vergangenheit beträchtliche Aufmerksamkeit auf sich. Indem die zwei Begriffe zumeist als Titel verstanden wurden, sind sie für die Frage entscheidend, wie die Texte von Esra-Nehemia die persische Administration der Provinz »jenseits des Flusses« beschreiben. Dieser Artikel untersucht die textkritischen und redaktionskritischen Fragen im masoretischen Text (MT) und in der Septuaginta (LXX) von Esra-Nehemia und wie Veränderungen gegenüber der Vorlage des MT die Stellung des »Gouverneurs« und — spezifischer — die Rolle Nehemias in den Texten modifizierte, die seinen Namen tragen.
Abstract:
The exact meanings of the terms החָפֶּ and אתָשָׁרְתִּ in the text of Ezra-Nehemiah have drawn considerable attention over the past century. Most often understood as titles, these two terms are significant because they provide a window into how the texts of Ezra-Nehemiah depict the Persian administration of the province Beyond the River. This article explores the text-critical and redaction-critical issues in the Masoretic Text (MT) and Septuagint (LXX) texts of Ezra-Nehemiah and how changes to the Vorlage of the MT altered the position of »governor« and, more specifically, the role of Nehemiah within the text that bears his name.

Le sens précis des termes פֶּחָה et תִּרְשָׁתָא dans le texte d’Esdras-Néhémie a reçu une attention considérable durant le siècle dernier. Le plus souvent compris comme des titres, ces deux termes sont significatifs car ils ouvrent une fenêtre sur la manière dont le texte d’Esdras-Néhémie décrit l’administration perse de la province de l’autre côté du fleuve. Cet article explore la critique textuelle et la critique rédactionnelle dans le texte massorétique (TM) et la Septante (LXX) d’Esdras-Néhémie, et la façon dont les changements de la Vorlage du TM impacte la position de »gouverneur«, en particulier le rôle de Néhémie dans le texte qui porte son nom.
