Bewegungen der CH3 -Gruppen in Methyl-Naphthalin-Kristallen

II. Quantitative Diskussion der Protonenspin-Relaxation / Rotation of Ch3 Groups in Methyl Naphthalene Crystals

  • J.U. Schütz and F. Noack

Abstract

The temperature and frequency dependencies of the proton spin relaxation in methyl naph-thalenes discussed in a preceding paper can be described quantitatively by assuming a rotatory jump model of the methyl groups in connection with a Cole-Davidson distribution of jumping times. The observed activation barriers are derived in good approximation from a Buckingham potential.
