Abstract
Creep tests were conducted at temperatures from 1673 to 1823 K on samples of Al2O3 containing 9.3, 18 and 30 vol % SiC whiskers. The results show that the strains to failure tend to decrease and the stress exponents for the steady-state creep rates tend to increase with increasing volume percentages of SiC whiskers.
