LD (Learning Design) specification represents learning as various combination of learning activities with learning conditions and outcomes. Learning activities are described with participant’s role, learning environment, and contextual sequence. This viewpoint resembles BPM (Business Process Modeling). BPM represents business process as an aggregation of unit business process with procedural and sequential information. This paper describes the method of conversion from LD to BPM description, and BPM engine modification to adapt LD efficiently. This work was implemented and tested with uEngine, which is an open source and java based BPM system. It is possible to integrate general business/learning activities and processes into the proposed work. The system is distributed under open source project named uEFL.
