Abstract

Advertisement calls of the West Australian frogs Crinia pseudinsignifera and Crinia subinsignifera are distinct. I report a natural hybrid between C. subinsignifera and C. pseudinsignifera based on initial detection of an intermediate call and confirmed by allozyme data. I discuss patterns of hybridization among C. subinsignifera, C. pseudinsignifera, and Crinia insignifera.
