본 연구는 명화감상에 기초한 유치원-가정 연계활동이 유아의 그림감상능력과 그림표현능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 A광역시에 위치한 B유치원과 C유치원 만 5세 유아 45명을 연구대상으로 하여, 실험집단(22명)과 비교집단(23명)에 임의 배정하였다. 실험집단은 12주 동안 명화감상에 기초한 유치원-가정 연계활동을 실시하였고, 비교집단은 같은 기간 동안 동일한 명화를 감상한 후에 느낌과 생각을 그림으로 표현하도록 하였다. 자료분석에 있어서는 실험집단과 비교집단의 차이를 알아보기 위해 그림감상능력과 그림표현능력에서의 차이에 대한 t검증을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 명화 감상에 기초한 유치원-가정 연계활동은 작품에 대한 태도를 제외하고 그림감상능력 전반을 향상시킨 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 명화감상에 기초한 유치원-가정 연계활동은 유아의 그림표현능력을 향상시킨 것으로 나타났다. 하위요인별로는 그림유형에 관계없이 세부적 묘사, 조화로운 화면구성, 재료와 도구의 적절성 측면에서 유의한 영향이 있었다. 내용의 적절성은 주제화에서만 유의한 영향이 있었으며, 독창성은 자유화에 서만 유의한 영향이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 명화를 감상하고 유치원과 가정이 연계하여 실시한 다양한 활동이 유아의 그림감상능력과 그림표현능력을 향상시키는데 효과적인 전략임을 시사한다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of kindergarten-home connected activities based on the appreciation of masterpieces on young children's ability to appreciate and express drawings. For this, a total of 45 5-year-olds attending two kindergartens located in a metropolitan city participated in the study. They were randomly assigned to the experimental group with 22 children and the control group with 23 children. The experimental group received the kindergarten-home connected activities based on the appreciation of masterpieces for 12 weeks, while the control group was told to express their feelings and thoughts into drawings after appreciating the same masterpieces during the same period. For data analysis, in order to examine the differences between the experimental group and control group, t-tests on the differences in the ability to appreciate and express drawings was conducted. As the results, firstly, the kindergarten-home connected activities based on the appreciation of masterpieces improved the overall ability to appreciate drawings except for the attitude toward works. Secondly, the kindergarten-home connected activities based on the appreciation of masterpieces improved young children's ability to express drawings. In each sub-category, regardless of the type of the drawings, there were significant effects in the aspect of the detailed description, the harmonious screen composition, and the appropriate use of materials and tools. The relevance of the contents had a significant effect only on the thematization, while the originality showed a significant effect only on the liberalization. These results imply that the kindergarten-home connected activities based on the appreciation of masterpieces would be an effective strategy for the improvement of young children's ability to appreciate and express drawings.
