이 연구의 목적은 4.3은 널리 교육되어져야 한다고 보는 것이다. 즉 제주도내 학생들에게 4.3교육은 필요하며, 이로 인해 부정적인 영향보다는 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수 있다는 것이다. 제주도내 10개 고등학교의 376명의 학생을 설문조사하여 SPSS 12.0으로 카이자승 검증한 결과를 정리하면 첫째, 4.3교육의 필요성을 높게 인식하고 있으며, 둘째, 소득, 성별, 4.3피해여부는 4.3교육으로 인한 장래영향, 갈등해소영향, 의식형성영향, 4.3행사영향과 관계없으며, 셋째, 4.3 교육을 받거나 4.3을 잘 알고 있는 학생일수록 장래영향과 4.3행사영향에 긍정적이며, 넷째, 4.3교육을 필요로 하는 학생일수록 장래영향, 의식영향, 4.3행사영향에 긍정적일 것으로 나타나고 있다. 따라서 4.3교육의 부재는 당시 상황에 대해 의심만을 키울 수 있기에, 4.3 교육을 통하여 밝힘과 반성을 하면서 제주를 평화의 지역으로 만들어가야 할 것이다.
About 60 years have passed since the 4.3, but the 4.3 has not yet educated. Should we keep away indeed from the 4.3? This study finds the influence on the 4.3 education. Findings are as follows; First, many students are recognizing the necessity of the 4.3 education. Second, there is the independent in the income interval(the sex, the 4.3 damage) with the future influence from the 4.3 education. And the individual characteristics are independent in the making their’s consciousness, attending 4.3 event and the settling an dispute. Third, the more the 4.3 education they receive(and they know well), the more they have affirmative tendency at influencing their’s future and attending 4.3 event. Fourth, the more the 4.3 education they need, the more they have positive tendency at influencing their’s future, making their’s consciousness, and attending 4.3 event after the 4.3 education. Therefore, we should learn the method to live in harmony, to guarantee human rights through the 4.3 education. So, we should make Cheju Island into the area of the peace.
